I love to see the Winter rains because if they are hard enough, the local marsh called Somenos Marsh will hold enough water so that the Trumpeter Swans that arrive in Winter will be frequent visitors. This photo was taken a couple of years ago when there was enough water. I love the color of the grasses contrasted with the white of the Swans and their similar poses reflected in the water..

Beauty in Everything: Mute Swan
Below is one of my favorite Mute Swan photographs. I have been trying to find what the proper term is for having the wings carried like this, but have been unable to do so. In any event, I think that the swan and its reflection is very lovely and a wonderful example of the beauty of God's creation. In the original photograph there is another swan behind this one, I think that this might be the male showing off for the female.
